What started as just a dream for Shayleen and Sierra has quickly turned into reality... and they couldn’t be more thankful! After spending just a short time in the gourmet coffee industry, Sierra quickly found a passion for the art of coffee! And as she excelled in her craft, she dreamed of having her own cafe. After meeting Shayleen (and quickly becoming great friends), the two talked of this dream, and how they could one day make it a reality.

So together, with the help of family and friends, they spent months working on a business plan that would build the foundation for there hopeful venture. Along the way came Bob Harter, Chairman of the EDO and fellow business owner of Black Forest Brewery. Bob and his wife Denise helped Shayleen and Sierra develop their vision, and make it a reality! He was able to find them the perfect home at 20 West Main Street in downtown Ephrata.

The girls of Griddle & Grind fell in love with the building, and since then have put in blood, sweat, and tears to transform the beautiful 1880’s building into a new cafe (while keeping some of the great charm of the historic building). For two girls who had no idea what business ownership entailed, they’ve fought hard to get where they are, and they already have much to be proud of! Shayleen and Sierra CANNOT WAIT to embark on this journey together along with the Ephrata community. They strive to offer each and every customer an exceptional product, whether that be coffee, crepes, or both, while also offering an atmosphere that says “Welcome!”
